Good Vibes

Today is a historic day. No matter if you’re homosexual, heterosexual, black, white, yellow, brown, red, we are all ‘One Nation Under God’. Today’s events have proven that as a country we continue to move forward through setbacks. The Supreme Court’s decision that all states must allow same-sex marriage is an incredible win for equal rights. I’m so proud that friends and family now have the right to marry whomever they love.  In a nation that has had a long, dark history of prejudice, and oppression against the fight for equal rights, we continue to overcome. In the wake of the Charleston Massacre and other events this past year, it is clear that our nation continues to struggle with gripping racial hatred and the mistreatment of black people. In President Obama’s moving and inspiring eulogy at Pastor Clementa Pinckney’s funeral today the message of grace, equality and humanity resonated.  If you haven’t listened to it, I highly recommend you do. Today, I am very proud to be an American, a black man, and a supporter of equality. Through adversity and the fight for a better America, ‘We shall overcome’. (at One Nation Under God)
